Drake recently joined gaming streamer xQc this weekend and revealed that he will be going on tour in early 2025.
Announcing the Anita Max Wynn Tour on the livestream, the Canadian rapper revealed that he’ll be kicking off the set of performances down under. Planning to remain in Australia for at least a month, Drake said that the tour will begin February 9 and run through till early March. He shared, “February 9th for anybody that’s watching from Australia, I’m coming back to Australia for the first time in eight years. Coming back to Australia on tour. Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast…February 9 ’til like…March something.” While Drake has not confirmed the specific venues just yet, he does tease appearances in major cities in Australia. He does seem to rule out visits to “other places,” seemingly focusing on Australia for the time being.
The last time Drake visited Australia was in 2017 for his Boy Meets World Tour. He also told xQc during the livestream, “Funny enough, it’s actually called the Anita Max Wynn Tour.” The timing of the announcement sees Drake reveal plans for the tour just days after Kendrick Lamar surprise released his latest album GNX. As for the tour name, it comes after the viral moment from Drake’s December 2024 livestream on Kick, introducing his “alter ego” of the same name which was a play on the gambling phrase “I need a max win.” On the same livestream with xQc, Drake also revealed that his joint album with PARTYNEXTDOOR is “75% done.” Stay tuned for more info.
